One Owner / Simon Flinn Serviced (2025) / 360 Systems Mod
This is a rare opportunity to own a verified piece of music history. This Linn LM-1 (serial number 000184) was purchased new in 1981 from the legendary Rose-Morris on Denmark Street by my uncle, the original owner. It has been with him since for 44 years and has been maintained to a professional studio standard.
This unit features the Bobby Easton 360 Systems modification, providing switchable Crash and Ride cymbal sounds, accessible via a rear panel switch that also engages the Cowbell and Cabasa.
The LM-1 is fully operational following the professional service and sounds great. It has expected signs of its age, including scratches across the chassis. One fader cap is missing (a spare is included but not fitted) and the display cap is also absent. The wooden side panels are generally in good shape, with some scuffing noticeable on the back right panel.
The machine's integrity is protected by a recent service by Simon Flinn. All channels and drum sounds are in working order, and the 360 mod is fully functional. Recent work included:
Replacement of corroded NiCad batteries with a modern rechargeable 3.7v battery and controller.
Thorough cleaning and reflowing of rear panel sockets.
Continuity check of all buttons.
Complete strip, clean, and reassembly of all potentiometers (pitch, volume, tempo).
Replacement of non-functional CTS faders with high-quality 45mm Bourns PTA 10k audio faders.
Installation of new decoupling capacitors on mix outputs and new capacitors in the power supply.
Expansion of memory with 8x 6504 RAM chips, ensuring full sequencing and pattern retention.
Verification of all rear panel functions, including the variable clock output.
